Keeping Our Platform Safe
Rubble is committed to maintaining a safe marketplace for all users. This policy outlines materials that are prohibited or restricted on our platform to protect public health, safety, and the environment.
Strictly Prohibited Materials
The following materials are never allowed on Rubble:
Hazardous Waste
- Asbestos-containing materials
- Lead-contaminated soil
- Materials containing PCBs
- Radioactive materials
- Chemical waste or contaminated soil
- Petroleum-contaminated soil
Toxic and Dangerous Materials
- Medical waste
- Biological waste
- Explosive materials
- Flammable liquids or solids
- Corrosive materials
- Materials with strong odors or chemical contamination
Illegal and Inappropriate Materials
- Human or animal remains
- Illegal substances
- Stolen materials
- Materials obtained without proper permits
General Waste
- Household garbage
- Construction debris (unless specifically disclosed)
- Organic waste that may attract pests
- Materials with significant plastic, metal, or glass contamination
Restricted Materials (Disclosure Required)
These materials may be listed but must be clearly disclosed in the listing:
Dirt with Debris
- Soil containing rocks, concrete chunks, or construction materials
- Fill with wood debris or organic matter
- Mixed materials that aren't pure soil
Clay-Heavy or Problem Soils
- High clay content soil
- Soil with poor drainage characteristics
- Compacted or difficult-to-work soil
Previously Treated Areas
- Soil from areas that may have been treated with pesticides
- Fill from industrial sites (with proper testing documentation)
- Soil from areas near roadways (potential salt contamination)
Required Disclosures
When listing restricted materials, sellers must:
- Clearly describe the material composition
- Disclose any known contamination or debris
- Provide photos showing the actual condition
- Include any relevant testing documentation
- Specify appropriate uses and limitations
Testing and Documentation
For certain materials, sellers may need to provide:
- Soil testing results for contamination
- Environmental clearance certificates
- Permits for excavation or removal
- Chain of custody documentation
Reporting Violations
If you encounter prohibited materials or undisclosed restricted materials:
- Do not purchase or handle the material
- Report the listing immediately through the app
- Provide photos and details of the violation

Consequences for Violations
Violations of this policy may result in:
- Immediate listing removal
- Account suspension or termination
- Forfeiture of seller fees
- Legal action if required by law
- Reporting to appropriate authorities
